A National Historic Landmark, this Railroad Station in Ellicott City is the oldest in the United States. Built in 1830 and in service until 1972, the museum now offers programs and exhibits that explore the development of transportation in America. Located at the intersection of Main St. and Maryland Ave in the Historic District of Ellicott City (2711 Maryland Avenue). Hours are Fri and Sat. 11 am-4pm and Sun 12-5pm. Call 410-461-1944

- Ellicott City Fire Museum
Located in the County's first firehouse at the intersection of main Street and Church Road in Ellicott City. The firehouse museum showcases a variety of model toys, fire apparatus, and impressive history of Howard County's volunteer fire department. Visit the Firehouse Museum by appointment Mon. Tues. and Thurs. noon until 5:00 pm. Call 410-313-1413.
